Project Description
Colantonio converted a 109,000 square foot, 19th century manufacturing plant on the Nashua River into this center for business and industry.
The structure required selective demolition, extensive environmental remediation, the installation of a new HVAC system, and the addition of new, 2-story glass foyers. Colantonio also converted an additional 15,000 square feet of space to house the Worcester County Registry of Deeds within a tight, three-month schedule.
The building, which now houses multi-tenant business and retail space, is an integral part of the revitalization of downtown Fitchburg. The Massachusetts Historical Commission designated Putnam Place as a site of historical significance undergoing adaptive reuse.
