Project Description
Colantonio converted the 42,528 square-foot, 10-story public housing complex into 96 units of affordable rental housing for the elderly and disabled.
The transformation included a large kitchen and community space for gatherings; a communal living room; a learning center complete with computers and printers; a wellness/exercise center; a large laundry room; a comfortable reading room; a sunroom, and a private outdoor patio.
Colantonio updated the units with energy-efficient and user-friendly appliances as well as new carpets, fixtures, tiles, drywall and paint. Eight units provide handicapped accessibility. All HVAC systems were replaced with high-efficiency boilers and a cogeneration unit. Colantonio also replaced the roof and upgraded the fire and safety systems.
